Hi! I’m Kelsey Hutton, an Accredited Sports Dietitian based in Sydney. I spend most of my time working with athletes of all levels, from the weekend warrior through to elite athlete, to improve their nutritional intake so they can reach their performance and recovery goals and live a healthy, active lifestyle.
I am passionate about food and how integral it is to our lives. I have always loved an active, healthy lifestyle and sharing this passion with others. Understanding sports nutrition is not just for the elite level athlete, I believe it is a positive and motivating way for the everyday person to improve their nutritional intake and reach their personal goals, whether that is to eat healthier, run a marathon or just be the best version of themselves every day.
If you have any enquiries about the services I provide on an individual level, or for corporate or sporting teams, please don't hesitate to contact me via email or by following my social media channels!
I spent my childhood being obsessed with learning how to cook and trying new foods. My family often had to put up with me pretending I ran a cafe as I made and served them 3 course meals that were, truth be told, not cafe quality meals! I soon realised that maybe being a chef wasn't the career path for me, but luckily I found a love for health science and nutrition, so it only felt natural to become a Dietitian.
Before I went into university however, I was like so many others and found myself influenced by the 'clean eating' and 'fitspo' trends on social media. As a young person I had believed it was healthy to cut foods out of my diet and eat 'clean' but this quickly led to feeling confused and overwhelmed around food, not to mention being tired all the time and feeling isolated by not allowing all my favourite foods in life. One day, while I was studying my dietetics degree, I realised that what I had been taught about nutrition by my favourite fitness influencers online wasn't working for me. What helped me most was learning the in's and out's of nutrition, why our body needs nutrients, how much we need, how much better we will feel when we fuel our bodies well and how this can optimise our overall health and wellbeing. I quickly noticed that when I followed a diet free of restrictions and rules, I felt so much better, no longer felt guilt around food and my training and performance improved too.
Now, my passion is to help others to understand nutrition and their body so they too can begin to reject restrictive food rules and find a way of eating that supports a healthy and happy life for them too. I know all too well the struggles that many active women and men face when they are exposed to confusing nutrition information online so I aim to help to debunk those myths and feel confident in their food choices. I work with clients online and in-person including elite level athletes, busy corporates, adolescents and weekend warriors who want to improve their relationship with food and eat to support their performance in work and in life.
